For systems 500L and under, electric heating or direct fire are often the most practical and cost-effective choices due to lower initial setup costs. Steam heating becomes highly efficient and is generally recommended for systems approaching 10HL (1000L) or larger, though it can be implemented on smaller systems if desired.
A complete 5HL turnkey system, including the brewhouse, fermenters, cooling, and milling, typically requires a minimum of 50 to 80 square meters (500 to 850 square feet) of dedicated floor space. This depends heavily on the layout and ceiling height of your venue.
